Buri Aquapark is scheduled to be available before August 2017 ends. This will be the new attraction in Catbalogan City. This is one of the many topics discussed during the meeting with Cabalogan City LGU today, August 8, 2017 at Samar State University. This facility will just be in time for Catbalogan fiesta this August 24, 2017 and the National Conference on Poverty and Sustainable Development this September 13-15, 2017. Mayor Stepahny Uy-Tan is also going to host a Mayors Night cum Closing Ceremonies on September 14, 2017. Proposed plans and activities included in the Buri Island Development Plan are some of the many poverty alleviating initiatives of the city. The concept is encompassing all development concerns, from waste, environment, economic and social aspects.
On the third day of the conference, the Academic track participants can be ushered to the new Estaka beach with new facilities like cottages, and the aquapark similar to what is shown on the picture which is in Batangas. This is just one of the other destinations to be visited.
The Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges of Region 8 (PASUC 8) endorsed unanimously the 2017 National Conference on Poverty and Sustainable Development (NCPSD2017 or PovCon2017). It is the desire of the convenors for LGUs to attend this conference where they could learn from researchers and leaders of LGU in fighting poverty. However the registration we will be asking from our participants as well as their accommodation in coming will deter them to join. However, since the convenors also has limitation specifically on finances, registration fees cannot be avoided. The registration fees can be waived and accommodations can be provided if the convenors will be able to find willing organizations to subsidized their participation. The convenors are very much in need of sponsors to finance any or all of the financial requirements of the activity. Your help is needed, contact us through the following;
